The primary goal of the ZIBI GS is to train young scientists for a future research or other professional career in the field of infection biology and immunology. Currently, more than 85% of our 102 alumni continued their professional endeavors in research, industry and academia, clearly benefitting from their unique education in infection research (data as of February 2017). A strong professional network is the foundation for a successful career. Building such a network on established connections is one important component. To support doctoral researchers in this crucial time of professional development, alumni are invited to the annual retreat for a career session.
